I went to the official Stephenie Meyer site and you can buy it on her site through amazon. BUT it still says that it hasn't been published yet.

I think that is strange especially since I can't find any other information about the book on her site. :?

As I was rereading my paperback copy of Twilight at the back it was advertising more Twilight things. One of them was the twilight saga official guide. It said coming to bookstores Dec 2008...

good to know the publishers were on this. lol.

Well, after that initial "release date" for that book had been announced, they later cancelled it because, in order to have a true "Twilight Saga Official Guide," they had to be able to compile detailed information about more than just the Twilight movie to add to the information about the Twilight saga novels. So I'd have to imagine that there won't be a new release date for this book at least until "Breaking Dawn" (the movie, that is) is in production, if not actually nearing release.

I went to the same bookstore again today and asked for more info.
I don't know if this is official. The person behind the register said it was only an estimate date, but she said it would be released around February 2010.

Hmm . . . well, then it wouldn't really be a complete "Twilight Saga Official Guide," because the most they could possibly have in there is everything up through production stills of "Eclipse," but they won't have any "official" information about the Breaking Dawn movie (or movies) if they release it in February 2010. So, yeah, they'd have information about the BD book in there, but just not the BD movie.

I still say it doesn't make any sense for them to release it until "Breaking Dawn" is coming out in theaters. Unless they release one edition of the book now, and then just release a "revised edition" after BD is released.

I thought the official guide pertained to the books rather than the movies. Like further details with characters and stuff.

Agreed. I don't think it has anything to do with the movies.

No, it's supposed to be a compilation of info regarding the entire Twilgiht Saga . . . . all the books, including Midnight Sun, plus the movie versions of the books. This has already been confirmed online. And that's one of the reasons why the release date has already been pushed back twice. The first time it was pushed back was when "New Moon" got the green light to start pre-production, and it's been postponed again once since then.

Hmm well that sorta makes me mad then. I mean we already have the illustrated movie companions for each movie, I really don't think they need to be included in the official guide.

I see why they did it since the movies are based on the books, but I still think that's sort of dumb. In this aspect, since the guide goes into more details about the characters and references, I feel like it's better suited for the book part of the series.
